about

Spanning from basement tapes to raw live recordings, Album Zero is a testament to the changing sound of New Pollution. The band has existed for some years under various other names while the group played the Long Island circuit, tirelessly spreading their aggressive noise through the underground scene. The album serves as a document of the band at their most raw and unrefined. Those who saw them live during the 2015/2016 period would likely comment on the sheer volume of their sound as well as the fact that they were the only rock n roll band on the island.

Tracks such as “Birds” and “Basement Jam” show the group at their most experimental and noisy, embracing their New York roots of no wave and noise. The various versions of “Equinox” explore psychedelic jam to the fullest extent, while including a steady motorik rhythm. On “Hills” and “They Turn Their Backs” the band experiments with stoner rock and drone rock, blending the two with a hint of blues rock.
